Subscribe to the Forum

In the Forum, choose the Index tab.

For each Category, there is an envelope icon to subscribe.

Click each Category of interest to you (using the drop down box on the top of the Index page speeds up the process a bit) and click the envelope icon.

You should receive email when that Category has a new post.

 

Antenna Grounding

Have a look at this document. http://www.sailmail.com/grounds.htm . I found the capacitors in an electronics surplus store (active surplus for those in Toronto. The copper sheet is on a roll and is 12 inches wide (I think I bought it at a metal scrap yard) ... you could use copper eavestroughing (sp?) scrap from a jobsite as well . I tinned the edges and soldered it together in place once I had the pieces arranged in the aft. It is not encapsulated. SSB grounding is an art. What works for some doesn't for others so I can only tell you what I have found to work on Pilgrim with a 23 foot whip mounted on the stern and a long wire strung between the main and mizzen (use only in port ... trust me).
